ADVERTISEMENT<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\nTurkey’s Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday they will search the Saudi consulate in Istanbul as part of an investigation in the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.<\/p>\n
Hami Aksoy, the foreign ministry spokesman, said in a written statement that the consulate’s building will be searched “in the framework of the investigation”.<\/p>\n
They didn’t specify when the building would be searched.<\/p>\n
Khashoggi was seen entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul last week but never came out.<\/p>\n
The United States and Turkey are leading calls for Riyadh to provide evidence on the whereabouts of the missing journalist.<\/p>\n
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan asked the Saudi government on Monday to prove that Khashoggi had left the consulate building in Istanbul while Washington urged Riyadh to support an investigation into his disappearance.<\/p>\n
